What Visitor Numbers Can You Expect From Your SEO Efforts?

How many visitors reach your website depends much on SEO, whether you think so or not. Advertising your online business can be very exciting, watching PPC campaigns and social media send customers to your site in droves. Many of them will hopefully be return customers, but you can’t just depend onĀ online marketing which is paid to break your business. It’s all about the organic traffic, the real numbers. These are the customers that find you via the search engines, and that is how the real money is made.

Let’s say you launch a PPC campaign and send 5,000 customers to your site over the next 30 days. From month to month, you continue to advertise your business, but you also focus on SEO. From the beginning, you set up your site appropriately, and as you continue to work on search engine optimization, the traffic numbers for your site slowly starts to rise. For the first six months, you realize that your advertising efforts are outperforming your SEO efforts.

Then everything changes. You log on to look at your statistics for the 7th month and let’s say you see something like this. For the 7th month, your advertising efforts have brought you traffic to the tune of 20,000 visitors. You see that your organic traffic numbers have blossomed to the point that you have 100,000 visitors via the search engines. While you will still have to continue working on SEO, one of the major benefits of organic traffic is that the search engines have your site indexed to the point that you should keep getting that type of traffic regularly.

In other words, you aren’t expected to keep coming up with creative advertising campaigns to get that traffic. You worked hard to index your site. As mentioned, you’re going to have to keep working on SEO strategies to maintain your position, but it’s still much easier than only relying on advertising. In essence, SEO makes or breaks an online business.
